AFOA Atlantic Fall Workshops

Join AFOA Atlantic this fall as we host the workshops outlined below! Facilitated by AFOA Canada and AFOA BC, these events are sure to educate and inspire those working on behalf of First Nations communities.

 

For your convenience, we are offering each workshop in Dartmouth, NS and Moncton, NB. Please register for the workshop in your preferred location.

WORKSHOP 1: Performance Measurement and Reporting

Facilitated by AFOA Canada. Upon successful completion of this workshop, you will be able to achieve the following objectives:

  • Objective One – Acquire and apply the basic knowledge and skills necessary to report on performance.
  • Objective Two – Discuss the Key Elements of Performance Management Approaches.
  • Objective Three – Understand the approaches to describing performance and be able to identify important aspects of performance.
  • Objective Four – Identify and describe the elements of constructive accountability.
  • Objective Five – Identify key factors that influence readiness to report performance.
  • Objective Six – Discuss factors that affect the appropriate level and frequency for preparing formal reports.
  • Objective Seven – Appreciate the need to combine quantitative information with management’s best judgement of its selected indicators and using recognized principles.
  • Objective Eight – Discuss and direct appropriate methods for assuring quality of reports.

  • Objective Nine – Identify a range of processes that engage community members in using reported information.
  • Objective Ten – Discuss key factors affecting reporting capacity and suggest ways to build them.

WORKSHOP 2: Audit Preparation

Facilitated by AFOA BC, upon successful completion of this Workshop, you will be able to:

  • Prepare for and manage the entire audit process.
  • Understand the 2026 reporting requirements for Indigenous Services Canada and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
  • Access time-saving tools, templates, and proven strategies to reduce costs.
  • Exchange insights with peers and strengthen your professional network.
